The latest Mortal Kombat 1 guest character, Conan the Barbarian, will be available for Kombat Pack 2 owners to play from 21st January 2025 in a week of early access. The fighter becomes available for everyone else on 28th January, leaving standard players an extra seven days to mull over the gameplay trailer above.

Equipped with his iconic sword, Conan features the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger and “stands ready to defend Earthrealm against the vile beings that mean to conquer it” in Mortal Kombat 1. His moveset is built around the Atlantean Sword in question, as he slashes and dices his foes. “The master blade-wielder can perform complex manoeuvres with the imposing steel weapon, including his intricate sword spinning and signature overhead chop to take down opponents with brute force.”

For his fatality, Conan the Barbarian kicks his opponent up against a barrel of boiling liquid. He cuts their arm off, then stabs them through the mouth and lifts them into the barrel to shed them of their skin, right down to the bone. Nice!
