EA Sports F1 25 Makes Some Sweeping Changes to My Team Career Mode on PS5
EA Sports F1 25, due for release on PS5 at the end of May, is the first iteration to be exclusive to current-gen hardware, and developer Codemasters is freshening things up even further with changes to its My Team career mode.
The above video talks through the overhauled mode, with the headline change being the role you play in My Team. Instead of your character being both owner and driver of your team, you’ll instead play a more management-focused role as a team owner.
This means a greater emphasis on decision-making across engineering, corporate, and personnel, including hiring a pair of drivers to represent your team on the track.

Don’t worry, though — you’ll still be able to drive all the races yourself, choosing one of your drivers to play as in the next grand prix.
Additionally, the research and development in the engineering section has been divided, allowing you to make more strategic decisions about what to prioritise and whether the parts you develop go to one or both drivers.
You’ll also be able to use a new contracts system to negotiate with multiple drivers to sign to your team. You can increase the amount of other staff in your facility, which will increase the efficiency in various departments, but obviously, more staff means a higher cost, so you’ll need to watch your finances and balance things out in the corporate section.
That’s where you’ll also find the brand new livery editor, which looks a lot more fleshed out in F1 25.
There’s a little more to go over in the video, but this is the gist. It all sounds like an effort to make My Team a deeper and more complex career mode than before.
