Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is just a week away from its PS5 release, and its first review is positively glowing.

The Level-5 RPG’s been a long time coming, given that the original Fantasy Life launched for the 3DS all the way back in 2014. And according to the latest issue of Japanese publication Famitsu, it’s been well worth the wait.

As reported by the Ryokutya2089 blog, Fantasy Life i was awarded a total score of 36/40, with each of the game’s four reviewers giving it an individual score of 9/10. Generally speaking, scores of 35 and over are a rarity when it comes to Famitsu — so the title’s off to a very promising start.

The review also reveals some key details about the release. It claims that the main story takes around 30 to 40 hours to complete, while players who want to experience everything can expect to spend between 80 and 100 hours with the adventure.

Described as a charming, accessible RPG with an addictive mix of slower life sim elements and action-packed exploration, it sounds like everything you’d want from a long-awaited Fantasy Life sequel.
