PS5 RPG Revival Raidou Remastered Shows Off Its Completely Overhauled Action Combat

The combat system in the original Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army was a sticking point for many critics and players back in 2006.

The PS2 RPG was something of an experimental escapade for developer Atlus, and it’s fair to say that the studio didn’t quite nail the action side of the experience; battles could be rather drab, slow affairs, with playable protagonist Raidou limited to just a small selection of repetitive attacks.

With Raidou Remastered, however, Atlus has basically overhauled the whole system. Not only does the remaster — which honestly seems more like a remake at this point — utilise mechanics from much-improved sequel Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon, it refines the entire flow of each fight with welcome enhancements.

You can get a good look at these reworks via the above trailer, which does a great job of explaining the ins and outs. The gist, though, is that Raidou appears to be starring a much better action game this time around.
