System Shock 2 Remaster Faces Last-Minute Delay on PS5
Originally set to release for PS5 on 26th June, the 25th Anniversary Remaster for System Shock 2 has been delayed on consoles. The PC version will still release this week, but console players will have to wait a while longer after Nightdive Studios encountered “issues” preventing it from launching.
In a social media message, the Washington-based studio explained: “We have encountered issues that have prevented us from launching System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster on consoles, including Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation, on June 26 as originally intended.”
According to the statement, the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch versions are “targeting the first two weeks of July” for a console launch.
Much more of a standard remaster compared to the complete overhaul the original System Shock received last year, the sequel’s re-release is still close, but not quite as close as it once was. Are you happy to wait a few extra weeks? Let us know in the comments below.
