Stellar Blade is well regarded for the proportions of its boisterous protagonist Eve, but it turns out director Hyung-tae Kim is a bit of connoisseur when it comes to human anatomy.

In an interview with a Korean channel, the game’s director – who also did a lot of the early character designs and concept art for the title – gave an outrageously detailed biological description of why the female butt is beautiful.

He started by talking about the shape of the pelvis, and how it differs between males and females:

“To talk about butt, we must first talk about the pelvis. The pelvis is basically like a bowl to hold the intestine. There’s intestine, then there’s spine, then pelvis. For male, the angle is straight, yet the female pelvis is tilted. So for females, their intestine is a bit popped towards the belly, and when the curve goes towards the groin area – it’s called ‘mon pubis’ (Hill of Venus).”

He then talked about the ratio between fat and muscle, and how the make-up leads to different shapes between genders:

“Obviously for females, they have more fat than muscle – you can’t see the muscle line. There’s muscle then fat; a butt that is covered by fat diminishes the boundaries of the leg. And those side muscles you can see are usually only seen by athletes. So, it gives a vibe of mass, and that line links the flow towards the thighs. So most of the muscle and fat are gathered on that part, where it’s thickest.”

He concluded with some comments about how the waist factors into all this, and his ultimate conclusion:

“You may ask, what about the waist? But that’s mostly intestine and bones, so the fat and muscles make the flow. For males it’s a bit stiff, with bones sticking out. Men basically don’t have a side-glute thigh junction. However, for females, it’s filled with fats, which leads to making the curve. And that is why the female butt is considered a very beautiful feature.”

After speaking for over 60 seconds on the topic in such intricate detail, the interviewers burst into laughter while Kim nods knowingly, clearly concluding he’s made his point confidently.
