Don’t Forget About the New Game from One of GTA’s Most Important People
MindsEye is in a strange spot.
The upcoming PS5 game is undoubtedly a big deal – it’s the new project from Leslie Benzies, a legendary producer whose credits include GTA 3 through GTA 5.
But due out on 10th June, we’re not sure developer Build a Rocket has done an adequate job of explaining what this game actually is or why people should care.
Here’s the blurb: “MindsEye is a story-driven, single-player action-adventure thriller. In our second story trailer we share a glimpse of technology’s immersive influence on Redrock, where consumer robots carry out most manual tasks and an algorithm connects all-seeing devices. The city itself is a living experiment in the existential potential of man and machine.”

It all sounds quite pertinent considering what’s occurring with AI in the real-world right now. Obviously, we got a glimpse of gameplay during the recent State of Play, and it looked functional – albeit a bit unoriginal.
“We can’t wait for players to immerse themselves in our tightly crafted game, MindsEye, with a thought-provoking story where technology and ambition collide, and the inevitable consequences unravel,” Benzies himself said.
It sounds like everything Push Square readers should enjoy: a story-focused single-player campaign with stunning visuals and intense action gameplay.
But for some reason, whether it’s the marketing or just a lack of general awareness, it doesn’t feel like it’s resonating.
Build a Rocket, along with publisher IO Interactive, has less than three months to figure that out.
