Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Reveals Ridiculous E-Sports Prize Pot as PS5, PS4 Fighter Gets Off to a Slow Start

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is trying to entice competitive players to its game with a prize pot of $2.5 million at the SNK World Championships later this year.
That eclipses the $2 million on offer at the Capcom Cup, which features the much more popular Street Fighter 6.
It’s all part of a marketing barrage from the Saudi Arabia-backed Japanese publisher, which has seen the game feature during WrestleMania, get massive global advertising, and even include soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in its roster.
But it doesn’t appear to be having a huge influence on the release’s popularity: the fighter peaked with just 4,674 concurrent players on Steam, and is floundering on page two of the PS Store’s best-selling games in the US.
