First Bonus PS Plus Extra Game from Days of Play Available Now on PS5

The annual Days of Play promotion is in full swing, and PS Plus joins the action today with the first bonus PS Plus Extra game. Another Crab’s Treasure can be downloaded now as part of the service’s middle tier.

The great underwater twist on the Souls-like genre is the first of six titles Sony is giving to members during Days of Play, and the other five arrive in the next week or so. Here are the other titles you have to look forward to:

PS Plus Extra: Bonus Games for May / June 2025

Skull and Bones (PS5) — Available 2nd June
Destiny 2: Legacy Collection (PS5, PS4) — Available 4th June
Grand Theft Auto 3 (PS5, PS4) — Available 10th June

PS Plus Premium: Bonus Games for May / June 2025

Myst (PS1) — Available 5th June
Riven (PS1) — Available 5th June

As for Another Crab’s Treasure, we awarded the PS5 effort a 7/10 when it released back in April 2024. Sharing praise for its action combat, shell system, and fantastic boss fights, our Another Crab’s Treasure PS5 review concluded: “Another Crab’s Treasure is a refreshingly different take on the soulslike action RPG.” You can now play it as part of PS Plus Extra for as long as it remains on the service.

Sorry – what’s a bonus PS+ Extra game? Isn’t that like saying here’s a game we were going to give you anyway, but now it’s like a surprise gift? Surprise! It’s just the same as any other PS+ Extra timed game isn’t it – or am I missing something?

I gave up on Extra half a year ago, so I’ve not been following what’s been going on that closely.

@LiamCroft I get that’s how it’s being sold… but it’s like saying instead of the 10 games we were going to add, we’ll just keep one (or 3) separate an rebadge them as “bonuses”. Maybe I’m just being too cynical, I just don’t see this as a bonus as compared to marketing.

@LiamCroft that’s true… and don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. Just saying it sounds like a PR tactic to give people the impression that Days of Play a bit more oomf.
