Last week, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was announced for PS5, and now, it looks like Ninja Theory’s dark adventure will finally get the physical version it never received at launch.

ESRB, the USA’s video game age classification authority, has issued a rating for the game’s re-release, listing the publisher as Limited Run Games (thanks, Wario64).

As you probably already know, Limited Run is a company in the business of producing and publishing physical editions of titles that otherwise would remain digital only.

Typically this includes indie games, or retro classics being brought onto modern platforms; Hellblade II will be one of the higher profile contemporary titles to get the treatment.

While no official announcement has been made, ESRB’s rating for Limited Run’s version of the game all but confirms its existence. It’ll be available for PS5 as well as Xbox Series consoles.

Microsoft’s multi-platform launches always come with the question of whether they’ll be released physically as well as digitally.

So far, it’s not been great news for collectors; Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is physical for PS5, though requires a download, and it’s a similar story with DOOM: The Dark Ages.

Both are published by Bethesda, with Microsoft itself yet to publish one of its Xbox Game Studios games physically on PS5. It seems Hellblade II could be the exception, though technically it’s Limited Run making it happen.

There are also rumours of a physical version for Gears of War: Reloaded, so we’ll have to wait and see if that holds true.

Anyway, we expect Limited Run will announce Hellblade II’s physical edition properly in due course. Would you like to pop this game on your shelf, or are you fine with adding it to your digital library? Tell us in the comments section below.
