Arc System Works, the supremely talented Japanese developer behind fighting games like Guilty Gear and the recently announced Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, has announced a surprise showcase.

Kicking off later this week on the 27th June at 10am Japan time / 2am BST / 26th June at 6pm Pacific, the event is promising a lot of potential news. Alongside updates on existing titles — like, we assume, Marvel Tokon — the team’s teasing “completely new” projects.

One of said projects is something that Daisuke Ishiwatari himself is working on, which is very interesting. Ishiwatari has long been the central creative force behind the Guilty Gear series, and with Guilty Gear Strive now over four years old, we can’t help but wonder whether there’s big announcement incoming.

Anyway, the showcase is being streamed live on YouTube and Twitch. Naturally, we’ll be covering any relevant news here on Push Square (even if it means staying up into the early hours of the morning here in the UK.).
