The landing page for PS Plus on PS5 may have accidentally leaked an upcoming game addition for its base tier PS Plus Essential. The PS5 remaster of Until Dawn has been spotted as being promoted as a “Monthly Game”, which means it’s coming to PS Plus Essential.

The PS Plus Essential lineup for May 2025 is scheduled to be confirmed this Wednesday, 30th April. Here’s a screenshot captured by Reddit user Budget-Neat4750 of the promotion:

Given that the movie adaptation of Until Dawn has just launched in cinemas worldwide, it makes sense for the game to be available on the service. This is the PS5 version of the horror classic, which proved somewhat controversial on its release last year. Despite the rather basic upgrade, the Until Dawn video game is still supposed to be better than the film, according to critic reviews.

In our Until Dawn PS5 review, we awarded a 6/10 rating and concluded: “With vastly enhanced graphics and minor gameplay tweaks, this is still a highly recommended game. The problem is it costs three times as much as its nine-year-old predecessor, and doesn’t have an upgrade path. For all of its grisly glamour, that makes this remake a tough sell – especially when it runs at half the frame rate of its predecessor when played using PS5 backwards compatibility.”
