Rumour: Data Miner Claims to Have Found Evidence of Halo on PS Store
Of Xbox’s big trio of exclusive franchises, Halo is the final one yet to come to PlayStation — but according to one person’s claims, that could change pretty quickly.
Data miner @grunt.api says they have discovered evidence of a Halo game on PS Store’s backend:
“A Halo game is coming (very soon) to PlayStation,” they say, elaborating that they found it on the “retail API” for Sony’s digital storefront.
Responding to questions, the data miner says the game is neither Halo: The Master Chief Collection nor Halo Infinite.
During Xbox’s recent showcase, Phil Spencer teased the return of a classic, very likely referring to Halo.
There have been a lot of rumours flying around for a while about the series’ debut on PS5, with the leading theory being a standalone release of the very first game, Halo: Combat Evolved, similar to what Microsoft is doing with Gears of War: Reloaded.
It’s difficult to put too much stock into the claims of just one person, but given Xbox’s trajectory and how many whispers and rumours there are, it feels like just a matter of time before we’re running down Grunts in a Warthog on PS5.
