Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided developer Eidos Montreal has apparently been pitching a new Deus Ex title to various partners and publishers — but no one’s taken it on yet.

This is the story from Insider Gaming, who say that the downsized studio was (and possibly still is) putting this project forward on a regular basis. Sources say that potential publishing partners simply aren’t willing to financially back Deus Ex as a franchise these days.

As the report points out, this Deus Ex title is not the same project that was cancelled when Embracer Group laid off close to 100 Eidos Montreal employees last year. It would seem as though the developer is trying to get back off the ground with a fresh take on the property.
