The Witcher 4 Dev Warns Against Beta Test Scam

In what will probably end up being the weirdest news story of the day, The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red has felt the need to post an official statement regarding some kind of ongoing scam.
Apparently, the scam in question revolves around people being invited to beta test The Witcher 4 — the highly anticipated sequel that was announced last year.
Needless to say, there is no beta test — scam or not — because the project’s still fairly early on in its development. If there really were any beta rumours floating about, we’d all be wondering why we’re yet to see even a glimpse of in-game footage.
“Recently, we’ve been getting reports from some community members that they’ve been invited to a beta test of The Witcher 4 — this is a scam!,” The Witcher’s official account proclaims.
“Should we ever organize any beta tests in the future, you will hear about it first, as always, via our official social media and websites,” it concludes.
And just to be clear, this logic applies to every game out there. Always look to official websites and social media accounts if you’re ever unsure of an offer’s legitimacy.
