color:blue; cursor:pointer\">s<span><span><span>hown to a selection of users who don\u2019t follow your profile<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span>, which can give you early insight into the likely performance of your Reel.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Which is the key consideration: Trial Reels are not displayed to your followers, either in the main Feed or via the Reels tab.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span>The idea is that this will give you an unbiased assessment of content quality (without your friends and family skewing the data), while at the same time, it can also help you reach a broader audience by exposing your content to more people who you aren\u2019t connected to in the app.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Which some creators are now using as a <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tubefilter.com\/2025\/01\/23\/instagram-trial-reels-growth-hacking-creator-economy\/\" style=\"box-sizing:inherit; Which, of course, everybody wants.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>So what do you need to qualify for Trial Reels?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Late last week, IG chief Adam Mosseri confirmed that Trial Reels are now available <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.com\/@oncescuradu\/post\/DMA9HD6sy5b\/media\" style=\"color:blue\">to all creators with at least 1,000 followers and an account set to \u201cPublic.\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span>If you meet these criteria, you\u2019ll be able to select Trial Reels within the Reels composer, via the toggle at the top of the detail screen.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span>As per <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/creators.instagram.com\/blog\/instagram-trial-reels?locale=en_GB\" style=\"color:blue\">IG<\/a>:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><em><span><span>\u201c<\/span><\/span><\/em><em><span><span><span><span>Before sharing, tap the toggle to turn on \u2018Trial\u2019. After sharing your trial reel, you can find it by visiting your profile where it will appear alongside any drafts you have. Only you will be able to see that your reel is a trial. Only you will be able to see that your reel is a trial. It will not be shown to other people on your profile unless you later decide to share it with everyone, and your followers won&#8217;t see the trial reel in their feed or Reels tab.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Around 24 hours after launching your trial, you\u2019ll be able to view key engagement metrics for your clip, including views, likes, comments and shares, so you can get a sense of how it\u2019s performing. You\u2019ll also be able to see comparative insights against your previous trials.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>It could be a valuable consideration, providing an actual means to get more reach for your Reels content in the app, among users who you\u2019re not connected to. For free.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Meta doesn\u2019t tend to allow free reach like this for long, so it may close this loophole at some stage.
