This updated number means it\u2019s added another five million units to its tally in the two years since.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of new releases over the past couple of years, the platform holder has ported Horizon Forbidden West to the PC, shipped spin-off LEGO Horizon Adventures, and even deployed Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.<\/p>\n<div class=\"insert-label centered insert lazyload for-mobile insert-extended lazyload\">\n<div id=\"PS_MPU_X_R688853402BFA5\" style=\"min-width:300px; min-height:250px\" data-dfp-id=\"pushsquare\/mobile_web_display\/article\" data-dfp-sizes=\"300x250,300x600\" data-dfp-targeting=\"pos=1,gto=false,experiment=nl-article-mobile-1\" class=\"lazyload\" data-prebid-config=\"Lazy_Load_HP_MPU\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>So, said five million units will be made up of all of the above, as well as residual sales of any existing titles. Still, at least we have a more recent update for Horizon, huh?<\/p>\n<p>Of course, as alluded above, this number has only emerged as part of a lawsuit, in which Sony has accused Tencent of plagiarising its post-post-apocalyptic outing with survival game copycat Light of Motiram.<\/p>\n<p>The platform holder wants to stop sales of the Chinese developed alternative, and alleges that at one point its rival tried to license the Horizon IP for its own game.<\/p>\n<div class=\"insert-label centered insert lazyload for-mobile lazyload\">\n<div id=\"PS_MPU_X_K688853402BFE9\" style=\"min-width:300px; There is such room for improvement in the franchise. It&#8217;s the same reason why Shadowbringers and Endwalker cast a long shadow over anything FFXIV does after them, no matter how good it is, the bar has been set stupidly high.<\/p>\n<p>The second is that disregarding the specifics of each plot, the types of stories they are are very different. At some point Forbidden West actually kind of felt like a chore to play and I had to push myself to finish.<\/p>\n<p>All modern open world action games are formulaic and repetitive by nature and it may be a victim of genre fatigue in my case, but sometimes less <strong>is<\/strong> more. Like I ended up using most of the weapons in Zero Dawn, at least situationally, because it wasn&#8217;t really daunting to learn most of them. In Forbidden West there were so many that I kind of had opportunity paralysis and I got sick of managing the weapon wheel, so ultimately I ended up using less weapons, just sticking with the regular bow and one or two elemental bows. It&#8217;s kind like in an FPS with 6 weapons, you&#8217;ll use all 6, but in an FPS with 30 weapons you&#8217;ll probably end up using 3.<\/p>\n<p>Also they ramped up the &#8220;intensity&#8221; of combat, so you spend so much more time getting knocked around by the bots and that&#8217;s 1) annoying and 2) removes whatever tiny shred of immersive realism the prior game had when Aloy is constantly getting knocked 50 feet in the air by a giant death machine and shakes it off with a few berries.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s really a problem with all these open world games. You&#8217;re expected it amp it up in the sequel, it&#8217;s expected to have more&#8230;and then it frequently ends up feeling unfocused and overstuffed. I don&#8217;t really know how you iterate on them and yet keep them feeling tight.
