been communicated to ad partners as yet.<\/p>\n<p>TikTok provided this statement on its Engaged Session test:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe regularly experiment with a variety of features and tests to gather feedback and learn from our community, and some of the tests don&#8217;t always end up as final products.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So while it is looking into this, it\u2019s not generally available as yet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>TikTok\u2019s testing a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/media\/tiktok-to-roll-out-new-tool-for-advertisers-to-follow-people-beyond-the-app\/\" style=\"color:blue\">new user tracking option<\/a>, which is designed to help brands measure activity outside the app, without the use of tracking pixels.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Which given past controversies around <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/tiktok-data-privacy\/\" style=\"color:blue\">TikTok tracking people\u2019s activity without their permission<\/a> seems somewhat risky, but the idea is that this will give advertisers more data to help them understand how their TikTok promotions lead to actual product engagement and purchase.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>As reported by <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/media\/tiktok-to-roll-out-new-tool-for-advertisers-to-follow-people-beyond-the-app\/\" style=\"color:blue\">AdWeek<\/a>, TikTok has been working with selected partners on a new option called \u201cEngaged Session,\u201d which will enable <span><span><span><span>advertisers to target users who spend at least 10 seconds on a website or retailer landing page after clicking an ad.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>As per <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adweek.com\/media\/tiktok-to-roll-out-new-tool-for-advertisers-to-follow-people-beyond-the-app\/\" style=\"color:blue\">AdWeek<\/a>:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><em><span><span><span>\u201cTikTok says that the new tool is designed to \u2018bring high-intent users to your website\u2019 while providing insights into engagement metrics like Total Engaged Sessions and Cost per Engaged Session, metrics that \u2018align closely with third-party analytics like Google and Adobe Analytics.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The idea is that these users have obviously been interested enough in your products to click through, so they\u2019re more likely to go on to make a purchase. They just might need an extra nudge in that direction, and this new option could provide an easier way to do that. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Though as noted, it does seem like a slight risk for TikTok, in terms of tracking user behavior.
