The idea is that this additional grind will keep players busy, but questions are already being asked of its implementation.<\/p>\n<p>Basically, there are now 9-star quests that reward said talismans \u2014 which come with random skills \u2014 but the new difficultly only applies to the usual few monsters. That is to say the apex creatures, which most hardcore players will have slain countless times by now.<\/p>\n<p>There was a hope that this talisman system would give hunters a proper reason to battle lesser beasts again, but as always, the sole focus is on the most dangerous monsters \u2014 some of which can already be a bit of a slog to fight.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s not all doom and gloom. Weapon buffs are being applied across the board, with the lance and insect glaive in particular getting some chunky improvements. There&#8217;s a huge list of welcome gameplay-based enhancements as well.<\/p>\n<p>Update 1.021 is out tomorrow at the time of writing this article (that&#8217;s the 13th August), and it&#8217;ll apparently weigh in at around 3GB on PS5.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Monster_Hunter_Wilds_Update_1021_Patch_Notes\"><\/span>Monster Hunter Wilds Update 1.021 Patch Notes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Major Additions and Changes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monsters<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 At HR 100 or higher, tempered versions of the following nine monsters will now begin to appear in the field as 9\u2605 quests: Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, Jin Dahaad, Gore Magala, Arkveld, Mizutsune, Lagiacrus, Seregios.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Regular and tempered versions of Rey Dau and Nu Udra will now appear in the Wounded Hollow at HR 100 or higher.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Adjusted the appearance rate of monsters at HR 100 and higher.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 The appearance rate of standard monsters has been slightly increased.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Player<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 A new appraisal item, Glowing Stone, has been added.<br \/>\nNote: It can be obtained as a reward from 9\u2605 monster quests. The item is appraised upon quest completion, yielding a talisman with random skill attributes.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 The upgrade limit has been increased for armor of rarity 5 and above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>System<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 Added a feature to hide\/show specific ammo and coatings in the Ammo\/Coatings Bar. This can be configured from the Ammo Pouch and Coating Pouch.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Added the new Recoil Aim Assist option.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 You can now set weapons, armor, and talismans as Favorites. Favoriting an item provides the following benefits:<br \/>\n\u2013 A star icon will display, making it easier to identify.<br \/>\n\u2013 You can sort and rearrange by Favorites.<br \/>\n\u2013 A confirmation message will appear if you try to sell or use it as melding material.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Added an option to sort by Favorites to the Equipment Box, Decoration Box, and Artian Materials Box.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Improved directional input responsiveness on the World Map, allowing for more intuitive cursor movement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bases and Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 Added a new feature related to Appraised Talismans to the Melding Pot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustments<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bases and Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 Increased the duration of meal effects from Portable BBQ Grill meals, Meal Invitations, and Canteen meals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Monsters<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 Fixed an issue where Focus Strikes could fail if a tear was present near an exposed weak point.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Fixed an issue where it was difficult to cause wounds with attacks while mounted on Blangonga and Ajarakan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Player<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>General<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 Fixed an issue where using an item via shortcut while recovering from a damage reaction or evading with weapon drawn would not trigger item use. Items will now be used automatically after those actions complete.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Adjusted the damage scaling during mounts to tone down the amount of damage reduction applied to non-mounted players&#8217; attacks.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Fixed an issue where the wet status would not be removed when retrying an Arena Quest while the player was wet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Underwater Hunting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 You can now chain into an evade from ascending\/descending movement.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 You can now use items during ascending\/descending movement.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Fixed an issue where items could not be used while in Focus Mode underwater.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Weapons<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Great Sword<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 Made it easier to chain into Tackle from combos such as Strong Wide Slash to True Charged Slash, Tackle to True Charged Slash, and Side Blow to Strong Charged Slash.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Leaping Wide Slash now chains faster into Side Blow.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Strong Wide Slash now chains faster into True Charged Slash.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Raw damage for Charged Slash, Jumping Charged Slash, Strong Charged Slash, True Charged Slash, and Strong Wide Slash has been slightly increased.<\/li>\n<li>\u2013 Element scaling for Strong Charged Slash, True Charged Slash, and Strong Wide Slash have been increased.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Long Sword<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2013 Reduced the delay between input and action when chaining into Iai Spirit Slash from Special Sheathe.
