Retention shows you the moments in your Reel that keep or lose your viewers\u2019 interest, so you can learn from each Reel you share.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>So the hope is that you maintain interest all the way through, as much as possible, while the various dips can also give you an indication of what, exactly, turns people off (i.e. the boring bits).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Instagram\u2019s also adding replacing \u201cView Rate\u201d with \u201cSkip Rate\u201d in its Insights display:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><em><span><span><span>\u201cWith the addition of Retention, we\u2019re also replacing the view rate metric with skip rate in the coming weeks.
