you can see in this example, Pinterest\u2019s teen usage prompts aim to get students to rethink how they\u2019re using social apps, including Pinterest, during school style=\"color:blue\">Pinterest<\/a>:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><em><span><span>\u201c<\/span><\/span><\/em><em><span><span><span>In time for the new school year, Pinterest will help British teens in the form of a new in-app test prompt encouraging teens to close the company\u2019s app during school hours and turn off all device notifications.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Which seems like a relatively soft approach to guiding healthy user behaviors, but the data suggests it could be an effective means to ensure awareness of such. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Pinterest began testing these push notifications among American and Canadian students earlier in the year, and says that over 1.3 million students in these regions tapped on the prompt in less than one month. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Which demonstrates its potential value as a means to get kids off their phones, and to concentrate on schoolwork instead, which is why Pinterest is now looking to expand to more regions. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The U.K. will be the next cab off the rank, with Pinterest eventually looking to bring these notifications to teens in all regions.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Though it has made a small change in presentation for the U.K. market:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><em><span><span>\u201c<\/span><\/span><\/em><em><span><span><span>Teens in Canada and the United States welcomed the feature, but said the messages read like they were coming from a parent or a teacher.
