We&#8217;re trying to basically make something that stands kind of shoulder to shoulder with it, using new tools, new energy, to get a little bit of a fresh take on some things, but honouring the legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Conn continued that it\u2019s imperative it gets the game\u2019s new four-player online offering right, and it\u2019s invested a lot of effort into that.<\/p>\n<p>He added:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cHalo has been always about reconnecting, a strong sense of community, and then also telling those stories and sharing those experiences together. And we believe that is where we&#8217;re really going to be able to bring people together with this new release.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s a bit of a wishy-washy answer really, and it doesn\u2019t really clarify Halo Studios\u2019 position.<\/p>\n<p>There <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/new-halo-live-service-multiplayer-game-inspired-by-fortnite-reportedly-leaked\/\">have been rumours<\/a> that the developer is <em>also<\/em> working on some form of standalone live service multiplayer spin-off, so perhaps it intends to deliver the series\u2019 trademark competitive action in a different package.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, the studio has said to expect more Halo games on PS5 moving forward, so whatever comes next is at least guaranteed to launch on Sony\u2019s system.<\/p>\n<p><!-- cache: Halo Studios only recently shifted to Unreal Engine 5, they need to create a new multiplayer framework and probably Forge Mode which allows for community created maps and modes. Development should become much easier if you focus on just one aspect and try to make it great. Halo Infinite seems to be lacklustre in both aspects.<\/li>\n<li>SP games typically have shorter cycles than MP-only games. As a publisher, you want to keep the MP audience on your existing game as long as possible to expand that specific ecosystem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A semi-good example is CoD: People expect a SP and MP mode in a new CoD game, but Activision wants us to stay on Warzone as long as possible, because this should be their cash cow.
