But essentially, it\u2019s the same concept, in a different form. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Perplexity<\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span> claims to answer more than 150 million questions each week.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span>And soon, Snapchatters will be able to pose questions to Perplexity AI in-stream, providing another way to seek out accurate, timely answers to various questions.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span>As explained by <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/investor.snap.com\/news\/news-details\/2025\/Snap-and-Perplexity-Partner-to-Bring-Conversational-AI-Search-to-Snapchat\/default.aspx\" style=\"color:#0563c1\">Snap<\/a>:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><em><span><span>\u201cStarting in early 2026, Perplexity will appear in the popular Chat interface for Snapchatters around the world. Through this integration, Perplexity\u2019s AI-powered answer engine will let Snapchatters ask questions and get clear, conversational answers drawn from verifiable sources, all within Snapchat.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span>So how is that different from Snap\u2019s \u201cMy AI\u201d chatbot, which is also available in the Chat interface?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span>Interestingly, according to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/help.snapchat.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/13266788358932-What-is-My-AI-on-Snapchat-and-how-do-I-use-it\" style=\"color:#0563c1\">Snapchat\u2019s Help Center<\/a>:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><em><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cMy AI is powered by Large Language Models like GPT models from OpenAI and Gemini models from Google and has been trained on a diverse range of texts, with additional safety enhancements and controls unique to Snapchat.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>So, theoretically at least, you\u2019ll be able to compare the answers from both AI tools within your Snap inbox, by asking the same question of both, and seeing what they return. So, again, reviews suggest that Perplexity is better for research, but if both it and a GPT-powered AI bot are available, you don\u2019t have to settle for either.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>That is, of course, if My AI stays.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Presumably it will. Snap notes that both options will be available in its announcement, so it is seemingly planning to offer two AI chatbots in-stream. But then again, with two AI chatbots, as well as \u201cSponsored Snaps\u201d appearing in your Snap DMs, things could get a little crowded, which could annoy some users.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>But that appears to be what Snap\u2019s going with thus far, and there\u2019s good reason why Snap\u2019s looking to add Perplexity in.
