looks as though its neon colours and square-edged buildings will look especially sharp on Sony&#8217;s PS5 Pro console.<\/p>\n<p>We suppose that goes without saying, but it&#8217;s worth highlighting how the game is utilising PS5 Pro&#8217;s power, as it&#8217;s a little different from the norm.<\/p>\n<p>On PlayStation&#8217;s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.playstation.com\/en-us\/games\/marathon\/\">official Marathon webpage<\/a>, it briefly explains the way the enhanced console is put to use.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;PS5 Pro Enhanced PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) blends 5K internal rendering into a clean, stable 4K image so your Runner\u2019s view stays sharp, even when the action gets hectic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"for-mobile insert insert-label\">\n<div id=\"inject-primis-player\" according to this line, Marathon is rendering out at a resolution equivalent to 5K, and PSSR is being employed to downsample it to 4K. This should result in an extra crisp image quality on the Pro.<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned, the game has always looked very slick in trailers and gameplay footage, and it might be this downsampling tech giving it the edge.
