There’s a New Dissidia Final Fantasy Game, But Here’s the Catch

Wonderful news! Square Enix has confirmed a new Dissidia Final Fantasy title, with a full reveal planned for 14th October.
The catch? It’s currently only confirmed for mobile, and is practically guaranteed to be some kind of free-to-play gacha game. The publisher doesn’t exactly have a great track record when it comes to these.
An English teaser website has been opened, meaning if you’re comfortable with the free-to-play shenanigans, then this will likely release worldwide.
Obviously, the big disappointment here is that this is unlikely to be a traditional Dissidia title like the excellent PSP games.
The publisher did release a new console version in the form of 2018’s Dissidia Final Fantasy NT on the PS4 – itself a port of a Japan-only 2015 arcade game – but it’s generally considered inferior to the aforementioned PSP entries, which we’d personally love to see ported to PS Plus Premium.
