Battlefield 6 Out on PS5 This October, Tons of Gameplay Revealed in Grand Presentation

EA has confirmed as part of its big reveal event that Battlefield 6 will launch for PS5 on 10th October 2025, and you can catch the explosive multiplayer trailer above.

An open beta is being held for the FPS game in the coming weeks, with the two main weekends of availability being 9th-10th August and 14th-17th August. If you manage to get a code, you can get early access from 7th August.

The presentation covered a ton of content and talking points, all of which have been broken down into the videos you’ll find below. Features like classes, maps, modes, and more are all covered.

The iconic class system returns better than ever, with Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer, empowering players to define their role on the battlefield. The four roles have been enhanced, designed to empower players to push their team towards victory, each with class-specific gadgets, signature weapons and dedicated training. Destruction also returns, but enhanced to offer an unparalleled level of freedom, letting players transform the combat zone, to create new paths, flank enemies and dominate the battle.

At launch, there’ll be nine multiplayer maps, one of which is a remake of Operation Firestorm from Battlefield 3. You’ll be able to play those nine maps across the following modes:

Conquest
Breakthrough
Rush
Team Deathmatch
Squad Deathmatch
Domination
King of the Hill
Escalation (new game mode)

Senior vice president and Battlefield general manager Byron Beede said: “We knew when we set out to create the future of Battlefield, we had to nail the fundamentals of what players have loved about the series for more than 20 years.”

“We’re back in our all-out warfare playground, with four world-class teams developing the game as a single squad known as Battlefield Studios. Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect have put their heart and soul into this next Battlefield and we’re thrilled to have shared our first look with you today and can’t wait to see you playing next weekend during the Open Beta.”

Not really for me, the whole near-future thing is a bit played out personally, the maps just look like every other Battlefield. Honestly want a new Star Wars Battlefront, the surge in popularity made me go back to 2 and it’s really good but a new next-gen game would be fantastic.

Damn, could be a problem for Arc Raiders, the actually great multiplayer…
Will they have no luck again… :/

How can people be excited about deathmatch multiplayer
Literally every round “spawn, dead, spawn, kill, dead, spawn” whereas in extraction mode everything actually matters.

but battle royale should be hood hopefully

This looks incredible, but after Battlefield 5 and 2042, a healthy dose of skepticism is warranted. Probably why they’re making such a big deal out of the open beta.

I’m currently watching the streamers play the game but doesn’t anyone think that it looks and plays differently to what it looked like at the start of the show?

The first time it was shown it looked intense and engaging with spectacular things happening like downing an helicopter and it crashing into the building with great looking destruction. What I’m seeing now just plays like BF 2042.

@MaccaMUFC Campaign has all the crazy sets. Online is as active as players make it. It is players task to create epic moments, isnt it?

Sharping your skills and tactics so it looks like Spawn, Kill, kill, kill, dead, Spawn Kill Kill Kill Kill Kill Kill dead Spawn. These are my most played games as battle royal is to slow, i want the fast pace skill based twitch shooters. Everyone is different tho and so i am excited to see more modes added for those that want to play them.
